About the photograph: Alpe d'huez at 7.7% average, 12% max grade and 1120 meters vertical is one of the classic climbs of the Alpes. This breathtaking climb follows 21 hairpin switchbacks all individually marked. This picture was taken as we climbed out of the mist and dense clouds to be rewarded with this amazing view above a sea of clouds.
